Thanks so much Laszlo, I will look into proxy by hostname... For on campus situation, you are right that probably is the reason why the proxy dropped... My goal is to have a permanent link at the browser's address bar so that users can just copy and paste... But from a couple of reply post, it looks like that it is not possible? thanks so much for the responses! It is great to join this community. There are a few issues here. If a user wants to make a link to a resource URL, then it is best to make a link starting with your ezproxy prefix and add the vendor page URL. For example, the proxied URL might be :- https://search-informit-com-au.ezproxy.laverne.edu:2799/search;res=AATD Then the vendor URL would be :- https://search.informit.com.au/search;res=AATD And with your ezproxy prefix it would be :- http://ezproxy.laverne.edu:2048/login?url=https://search.informit.com.au/search;res=AATD You can check on campus that you have a working URL for the vendor page of an IP authenticated resource, and then add your ezproxy prefix at the start. That is like the link you have provided. I guess that on campus users do not need to be proxied, so on campus users may start with a proxied link, and then the proxy server is dropped from the URLs if the user is on campus and does not need to be proxied for that vendor link. I guess that your ezproxy is configured to use "proxy by port". I believe you should start looking at "proxy by hostname" because "proxy by port" is being deprecated. I am using "proxy by hostname" so my examples may be working slightly differently to yours, but I believe it will be close. Best, Laszlo. For example: we have the ezproxy URL of: * http://ezproxy.laverne.edu:2048/login?url=https://search.proquest.com/abidateline/advanced?accountid=25355<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fprotect-au.mimecast.com%2Fs%2FYCxAC0YKgRs4NpkYhw1ZMv%3Fdomain%3Dezproxy.laverne.edu&data=02%7C01%7Cajiang%40laverne.edu%7Ce2a2b642fba24844f15a08d77d1ba437%7C481fc41f861844cbaa7e4947d7e665a2%7C0%7C1%7C637115430010631866&sdata=RWk3uut3XffCSU319AOQcnDGC3GtgFjI1Q%2FoRrs9OGQ%3D&reserved=0> * You noticed the port is 2048. However, when clicking on it, and take me to the database, the port number becomes something different like 2799; 2655, seems random to me... This create a huge issue for us since people can't seems to be copy paste the URL. * Also, I sometimes lost the proxy URL for some databases. so again, people can't copy and paste the URL when faculty trying to link to it. I think it has to do with my config file...but I do't know which part control this... I appreciate very much if you could share your experience on this issue. Also, can someone share with me the config file template? where the beginning lines are all the standard? we only need to insert local database below? I tried to find in the OCLC support page but didn't find it. Thanks so much! Thanks so much!
