*My VISA got rejected today (21st May). I applied for Masters in electrical
and electronics engineering from Univ. of Missouri, Columbia.
Here is the transcript of the interview:

*VISA Officer: *Why Univ. of Missouri Columbia?
*Me*: Because it has good research in my field of specialization, that is,
Signal Processing applications. And Professor XXX there has agreed to take
me in his lab (over email).

*VISA Officer: *Which other univ. you applied?
*Akshay: *9 univ. In got 6 admits, 3 rejects. UMC, UCF, Rutgers, Santa
Clara Univ, George Mason Univ, Portland State Univ.

*VISA officer: *Why not Rutgers?
*Akshay: *Even though Rutgers is a better ranked univ. the research there
is not good in my domain. I have inquired from the current students there
and they say that the course for my specialization gets cancelled some
times due to scarcity of students.

*VISA officer*(typed something for 20-30 sec): Sorry I cannot give you a
VISA.

The interview lasted merely for 2 mins.
