Hello Dear Srihari and all, Everyone seem to be sleeping... Its for long i did not have a look at such questions. Just maybe i can give a hint.. 1. Assuming day as 24 Hours. After one day the pool is filled 1/5 and 1/3 by pipe A and B respectively. So in total 8/15 is filled while 7/15 is left empty. To fill 7/15 pipe A will further need 5x7/15 =2.33 days....means total 3.33 days or 80 hours----maybe right or wrong...Grade 5/6 question 2. In this part distance between the two trains is missing....for such problem one can use equation of speed/velocity for both trains. Effectively the combine speed is 120mph....both lengths sum up to 800m and say they are 400m apart...then they need to travel 1200m..assume both start at same time then 1200m= 120t => t=10h. I assume meter/h other units u can change as u like.--- 3. Here can use some very simple geometry and form two equations after u draw the figure...my answer come to be 40 ...maybe wrong but someone else may answer u too.. Sorry if i did some calculations wrong..
