ALSO SEEN: J. T. Ramsey, Sallust's Bellum Catilinae. Second edition. New York/Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2007. Pp. 280. ISBN 9780195320855. $25.00 (pb). Reviewed by James J. O'Donnell, Georgetown University ------------------------------- To read a print-formatted version of this review, see http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/bmcr/2009/2009-03-22.html To comment on this review, see http://www.bmcreview.org/2009/03/20090322.html ------------------------------- Ramsey's Sallust appears in the textbook series of the American Philological Association, edited by Professor Justina Gregory, but as VP for Publications I have supervisory responsibility for the series, so this is not and cannot be a review of the book. It does seem to merit BMCR readers' attention, however, to call to their attention that the learned editor has provided several additional resources for students of the Bellum Catilinae: the complete Latin text in either PDF (formatted to the print volume) or Word (adjustable and formattable to suit the reader's wishes) format, as well as PDFs of a "who's who" of persons mentioned in the text (i.e., 6 pages of annotated index), and a page of supplementary bibliography of current work. These items are most conveniently available now at http://www.oup.com/us/companion.websites/9780195320855/?view=usa (http://www.oup.com/us/companion.websites/9780195320855/?view=usa) but will also be available through the APA website. Scholars, teachers, and students will all find those materials variously useful.
