Position Opening - Immediate (announced May 31, 2002) Program Coordinator, St. Petersburg 2003 CEC International Partners CEC International Partners is a non-profit organization, based in New York City, involved in organizing and facilitating international partnerships and collaborative projects in the arts. We link artists, arts professionals and arts organizations in the U.S. with partners in the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe. St. Petersburg 2003 is a long-term collaborative Russian-American program that aims to build arts infrastructure in St. Petersburg, in preparation for its 300th anniversary in the year 2003, as well as in other cities and regions throughout Russia. Job Description The Program Coordinator reports to the Program Director and works closely with the Representative in St. Petersburg to ensure the smooth operation of the varied projects of the St. Petersburg 2003 program. The position is full-time, with health insurance and an option for retirement benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities: a.. Assist in planning and facilitating projects b.. Coordinate all aspects of program exchanges, including planning schedules and travel arrangements for participants c.. Work with the Director and the St. Petersburg Representative on grant proposals and budget preparation d.. Track program expenses and liaison with director and accountant on program budget e.. Correspond with Russian partners; translation/interpretation for Russian visitors a.. Maintain program website Qualifications a.. Bachelor's degree or higher in international relations, Russian language, art/art history or related fields b.. Excellent administrative and organizational skills required; prior experience in a nonprofit environment or grants management highly desirable a.. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; familiarity with and sensitivity to Russian culture a.. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines a.. Good written and oral expression in both Russian and English a.. Computer skills: basic Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint a..
