Purpose: The purpose of the nissscholarships list is to post scholarship, funding, conference and publication announcements related to former Soviet Union (both in the region and in the US/Europe). This list is sponsored by the Alliance for Conflict for Transformation, a US non-profit organization that is dedicated to transforming conflicts and building peace at the community, national and international levels please see www.conflicttransformation.org for more information Posting to the List: Please send all announcements as text messages in the email as attachments aren't permitted. There are two ways to post, first if you're subscribed to a list you can send it directly to the listname such as [email protected] (substitute the appropriate name) or if you can forward the posting to me at [email protected] and I will forward it for you. In your postings if you can be specific as possible, regarding job/scholarship location, requirements, any restrictions on citizenship for applicants please try to do so. Finally the types of postings that are appropriate include job, scholarship, conference and funding announcements. In addition, requests for partnerships, or useful websites, publications. Individual requests for employment and resumes are not appropriate (we do hope to build in a more interactive section in the new website for the lists in the future) Donations: As announced recently in the next few months we will be moving to a fee based subscription service for subscribers from North America and W. Europe. However we would still like to encourage people worldwide to donate to support the lists/ACT (donations given now will be credited against future subscription costs). If you are a regular subscriber to the list, or have found a job/scholarship we would like to encourage you to make a tax-deductible donation to the Alliance for Conflict Transformation. Funds raised will be used to support the maintenance and improvement of the list/ACT's website and any additional funds raised will be used to support ACT's programming. Given the high volume of postings to the list we would like to encourage subscribers to give a suggested minimum of $20 per year if possible. To make a donation please see: http://www.conflicttransformation.org/supportact.shtml There are two ways to donate, one is through a direct on-line credit card donation (for such donations you need a US mailing address) or the second is through sending a check or money order directly to ACT. See our website for more information).
