Revised CFP: Problems of the History of Government, St. Petersburg, Russia, October 8-9, 2002 Faculty of Law of Saint-Petersburg State University Russian Society of Legal History International Scholarly Conference: "Problems of the History of Government (for the Bicentennial of the Ministry System in Russia)" October 8-9, 2002, Saint-Petersburg, Russia Dear Colleagues: The Faculty of Law of Saint-Petersburg State University and the Russian Society of Legal History will conduct the international scholarly conference: "Problems of the History of Government (for the Bicentennial of the Ministry System in Russia)," and invite all legal historians to take part in it. The Program of the Conference includes: Plenary session. Sections sessions The History of the prikaz and colleges system of government in Russia in the 16th-18th centuries, The History of the ministry system of government in the Russian Empire, The History of the ministry system of government in period of two governments, the Soviet Russia and the USSR (1917 1991), The History of the ministry system of government at the end of 20th beginning of the 21st centuries, The History of colleges and the Ministry system of government in foreign countries in 18th 20th centuries, Central government in the history of political and legal doctrines in all countries. Round tables on problems of teaching legal history. Abstracts of papers must not be more than 3 pages. We ask you to send abstracts by August 31, 2002. The Organizing Committee of the Conference plans to publish the abstracts of the Conference. The Organizing Committee of the Conference will provide accommodations for participants in the hotel "Chaika". This is an apartment hotel with a two star rating located near the Law Faculty: Vasilievskiy ostrov, Kapitanskaia ul., 3. The current rate for a double room is 350 rubles (approx. $12) per night. In October it may be a little higher. If you need, we can help you with other forms of accommodation. We will meet you at the airport.
