Upcoming List Changes:
As we have written the past few months we have been working on setting up a
new customized site for the lists which will be ready within the next few
weeks. As part of the new system we will be charging a small fee for
subscriptions to cover the costs (a free subscription option will be
available for certain regions). More information on this will be sent out
once the new system is up. The new is being custom designed and should be
much easier to use than yahoogroups. As we also sent out as part of the new
site we would like to put up some feedback from subscribers about how you
may have benefitted from the lists.
If you have a minute or two and are willing to send some feedback how the
lists have helped you (either if you use them to recruit people for
jobs/scholarships, or if you are a person applying for them) and are willing
for us to use the feeback on our website all comments are welcome (please
include your oganizational affiliation).

Purpose: The purpose of the nissscholarships list is to
post scholarship, funding, conference and publication
announcements related to former Soviet Union (both in the region and in the
US/Europe). This
list is sponsored by the Alliance for Conflict for
Transformation, a US non-profit organization that is
dedicated to transforming conflicts and building peace
at the community, national and international levels
please see www.conflicttransformation.org for more
information

Posting to the List:
Please send all announcements as text messages in the email as attachments
aren't permitted. There are two ways to post, first if you're subscribed to
a list you can
send it directly to the listname such as [email protected]
(substitute the appropriate name) or if you can forward the posting to me at
[email protected] and I will forward it for you.

In your postings if you can be specific as possible, regarding
job/scholarship location, requirements, any restrictions on citizenship for
applicants please try to do so.

Finally the types of postings that are appropriate include job, scholarship,
conference and funding announcements. In addition, requests for
partnerships, or useful websites, publications. Individual requests for
employment and resumes are not appropriate (we do hope to build in a more
interactive section in the new website for the lists in the future)

List Management: You can manage all list functions at
groups.yahoo.com, login in using your e-mail and
password, change your email address for subscriptions, etc. If you have
problems check the help desk
first, and if needed you can contact the list-owner at
[email protected]

A summary of quick functions is:
Unsubscribe - Login and click on my groups at
groups.yahoo.com . Click on the group you want to
adjust your membership and select the appropriate
option. You may also unsubscribe via e-mail at
[email protected]

Web version - If you're overwhelmed by postings you
can also switch to a digest version using the same
procedure (as with how to unsubscribe), meaning you
will receive one large e-mail each day. You can also
switch to a web-based subscription only.

Archives - You can view and search all previous
postings by logging in at groups.yahoo.com, with your
e-mail and password and then click on the group you
