Some places vacant for the next UNITED Conference - if interested, please contact us as soon as possible! Dear friends, UNITED for Intercultural Action will hold a European conference on the struggle against racism: "Facing the Challenge: A Youth Strategy Against Racism and Related Forms of Discrimination in Europe", October 09-13, 2002 in Bucharest (Romania). We want to bring people from Western, Central and Eastern Europe together to think of and plan strategies against racism. Participants should be interested in working together on an international level. They should be interested in sharing their experiences in local anti-racist work and be open for new ideas. There will be possibilities to discuss about discrimination of Rroma as well as about racism in the media. The results of the conference should be better co-operation, more common action and concrete campaign planning. We are still looking for some participants! If you are interested, please act immediately (discuss a participation in your organisation) and contact the UNITED secretariat as fast as possible. Priority will be given to nominations from delegates with a minority background and young delegates (up to 30 years old). Please note that UNITED can contribute to your travel cost up to a maximum of 300 Euro (Apex flights for distances over 800 km only, otherwise train/bus). Due to our linited budget we appreciate if you look for alternative possibilities to cover your travel costs yourself. The participation fee is 80 Euro (50 Euro for UNITED-supporters). Participants from Central- and Eastern Europe may ask for reimbursement of (part of) the participation fee before the conference from our solidarity fund. All costs for programme, accommodation and food are included. Nominations should arrive by fax or email at the UNITED secretariat as soon as possible!
