Occupational Summary:*

This position is responsible for providing technical support for the CAD/GIS
staff, including general support for GIS products used within the group.

*Work Performed:*

- Responsible for developing, documenting, and implementing GIS data
maintenance processes & associated workflow.
- Assists the Operations & IT Managers and VPs in developing long-term and
short-term objectives, as well as preparing the annual GIS budget.
- Provides technical support for the CAD/GIS staff, including general
support for GIS products used within the group; development of custom tools
& reports that identify data errors; development for custom tools that
streamline GIS data maintenance workflow; and general GIOS database
administration.
- Provide leadership and direction to CAD/GIS staff in development and
furtherance of departmental GIS initiative.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to the CAD/GIS staff in the
interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the
procurement and use of CAD and GIS files and databases.
- Make oral presentations of system analysis, design, and operational data
in a clear, concise and non-technical manner.
- To liaise with software suppliers and be responsible for the technical
management of all software and database updates
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

*Required Qualifications at this Level:*

Education/Training: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Geography, or
related field OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE

Experience: Three years experience as a GIS mapping technician or
supervisor, at least one of which involved managing and developing mapping
applications for computer/data systems.

Demonstrated supervisory experience preferred.
