I have now removed some of the topic groups (primes and factors, fibonacci, ecoliteracy and randomness). The material from the Ecoliteracy and randomness groups have been physically moved into the Systems, models and randomess-topic. I have added this topic to all the people who previously belonged to either ecoliteracy or randomness, however it seems that the "topic"-properties for reports, tools etc need to be changed by the respective authors.... I will have a look again into how this could be done from inside the system, but for now it would be good if at least the tools made by us could be updated manually. I have also updated all sites descriptions so that teachers and researchers are listed sepatated from the students. This is something that we have found important since children and teachers often want to know what "kind" of users they get in contact with. To do this, I have changes the "site-property" of all the users that I believe are teachers or researchers, and then manually added these to the the descriptions of the sites that (I think) they belong to. I was planning of doing something similar with the topic groups, but this is much trickier to accomplish. Hence, this means that all teachers and researchers should have "Teachers and Researchers" as their "site" (I know this is a little confusing as a "site", but it was hard to find other solutions), and then get added manually to the site description of the school they work on. Please tell me if you want yourself added to or removed from a particular school, or if there is anything else that needs to be fixed! /ylva > -----Original Message----- > From: Sophie Covey-Crump [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: den 13 januari 2005 12:22 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [weblabs-general] WebReports site descriptions > > > Dear all, > > There are several new sites listed on: > http://www.weblabs.org.uk/wlplone/Sites/groups_index_html > which, of course, is great. > > The problem is, most of them do not have a picture or a description. > This doesn't look good, and can be frustrating for curious > members from other sites.
