Dear all, According to the Deliverable 9.1.1 'First prototype of guidance materials' we are committed to a first draft of web-based guidance by month 24. The objective of this Deliverable is to produce a set of guidance materials that assist students in engaging in the activities, support their learning and encourage collaborative production of web reports, and in particular, ensure equal participation among different groups of students in the participating countries. In the project proposal we said the following: During year 1, each site worked on introducing technical details of how the software and hardware works, and how communication and publication of reports can be undertaken. While curriculum activities were designed, various sets of guidance including effective tasks, worksheets, particular models to try out have been adopted to guide the implementation of instruction. During year 2, these records of guidance will be converted into more explicit guidance (at this stage, mostly textual and graphical) designed to support modelling with TMs, facilitate collaboration in and across sites, support the creation of reports, and scaffold the discussion about and modification of reports. Each site involved will be responsible for the first production of guidance for one knowledge area, which will then be tested at a second site. All guidance materials will be primarily available on the web and integrated into web reports wherever appropriate. Based on this Deliverable, we performed an initial search on the plone site with a view that a lot of existing material on the plone can be counted as guidance. The following are examples: worksheet templates: these are the web report templates that have been prepared for use in the course of activities (for example http://www.weblabs.org.uk/wlplone/Members/yish/my_reports/Report.2004-04-21. 4159 ) tutorials: these are listed here http://www.weblabs.org.uk/wlplone/Help/tutorials_index_html specific 'guidance pages' within researcher web reports: these are web-reports written by researchers, which contain information that might help teachers who wish to run an activity (we could not identify a page on plone as a reference) We would appreciate it greatly if each of you could send us specific URL's of a any kind of material already uploaded in the plone site which are relevant to each of the above categories. In case you have already prepared anything in the past that counts as guidance or you intend to prepare anything relavant to this, please send it via email to us. Your contribution will make our work easier in indexing all available information in the three categories so that this will be more accessible online and also so that we can compile the deliverable. We would appreciate it if you could let us know before the 12th of May.
