Good news (and I'm blushing)

Hi all.
I just discovered a major performance bug in ToonTalk that has been
there for over 2 years. The bug is barely noticeable on my laptop with
1GB of memory but it is very serious on machines with 64MB or 128MB. It
is also very noticeable on any machine if you try to paste a very large
image into ToonTalk (the one that led me to tracking down this problem
was 1700x2500 pixels). The problem gets worse the longer ToonTalk runs
and the more different images (either built-in or user) that are
displayed. The symptom was that ToonTalk just got slower and slower
until finally it ran out of memory.
By Monday you all should have a much better release.
Technical details for those curious:
Two and half years ago I switched to using a new Windows API for images
(GDI+). It was a surprise to me to learn today that if you lock an image
just to read it and the image is deallocated while locked that memory
allocated by Windows is not recovered. The tools I use to track down
memory leaks didn't catch this since it wasn't my code that was doing
the memory allocation.
Best,
-ken
