------=_NextPart_000_1552_01C48C0E.01CE3AE0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi.=20 Scales need to work in thought bubbles where you typically erase the neighb= ours. So they compare that previous un-erased values (those you get when yo= u use Maggie the Wand in 'O' mode). This can't just work inside thought bub= bles since you need to be able to vacuum out a box from a thought bubble, e= dit it, and put it back. Admittedly this all is a bit confusing but I'm not (yet) convinced anything= needs changing. Best, -ken P.S. Why WebLabs-requests rather than ToonTalk? ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Jack Waugh=20 To: [email protected]=20 Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 4:13 PM Subject: [WebLabs-requests] Magnitude Comparison between Empty Text and E= rased Text I put a balance between an erased text pad and a text pad denoting the empty string. The balance tilted to the erased pad. This seems mathematically poor. The balance should teeter on the grounds that the erased pad represents no particular known value and among the values (of the type in question -- text) that could be substituted there would be one that would not be greater than the empty string. ------=_NextPart_000_1552_01C48C0E.01CE3AE0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.2900.2180" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>Hi. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>Scales need to work in thought bubbles where you typically erase the neighbours.
