Hi.

Micke was proposing giving the hand many new behaviors including the one
you suggest. I worry about lots of behaviors for the hand but two is
maybe OK. But after sending my email it occurred to me that the hand
already works like 2b for flipped pictures. I think that is another
reason to favor this. But notice that 2b is clumsier than 2c (Micke and
Leonel's sticky finger). With 2c you just drag subpictures around. With
2b you pick up a subpicture and then drop it again where you want it. So
2b is requires some extra clicks (though it is not clear how with 2c you
indicate whether you want the ordinary hand or the sticky finger mode).
But it is simpler and fits better with how ToonTalk currently works.

Best,

-ken

P.S. Maybe you are right - everything should have labels. Exceptions
like bombs and scales just adds a kind of complexity to the system.

Hi Ken,

What about giving the hand a new behaviour? It could assume the
position of a sticking finger (sorry if this isn't the right word to
describe it), like if you were finger-painting, and that could be used
to
drag objects instead of grabbing them.

This said, I'm not sure I don't prefer 2 b) over my own suggestion.

Inté,

Leonel
