Hi.

The icons just run StartTT with appropriate command line options. E.g.

"C:\Program Files\Animated Programs\ToonTalk\StartTT.exe" -free_play 1 -time_travel_enabled 0 -default_user Playground2001X

ToonTalk just treats Playground2001X as an ordinary user. The zip file just contains the files for that user.

I wonder if there are other cases in Playground where it expected all arithmetic to be limited to integers.

Best,

-ken

You're right, I had time travel on which was a bit dopey! I tried again with time travel off, it still took a long time to load but was OK once I got in. What should the desktop icon point to (I have removed it)? How does TT know to use these new versions of the files, is this part of the 3.31 code?

By the way, one of the numbers games (I forget the name, on the right in the numbers house) might be broken because the target score has decimal numbers, which I suppose is part of the new representation of numbers.

  Hi.

The "correct" way is to use the desktop icon called Playground City. This does 2 things:

  1. Makes Playground2001X the default user so you can log on with a user name and save the city, etc without clobbering the original.

  2. It turns off time travel by default.

My guess is that ToonTalk didn't freeze but that you had time travel on and that had you waited long enough you would have gotten 5 seconds before it froze again. Let me know if this fixes things.

  Best,

I logged in to TT with username Playground2001X (is this the correct way to
use these new files?) and it took a long time to load and finally got to the
    helicopter which just froze...
