I am pleased to announce that the first (real) version of our web portal
is now launched. I will send this announcement in two parts. This part
contains important information that *everyone* needs to know about. The
second part will contain more detailed instruction on how to use the new
site, for those who haven't had the chance to look at the new version yet.

Important information:

- The address of the site is http://www.weblabs.org.uk/wlplone

- I have removed all user accounts from the older test version, to make
sure we don't drag along any peculiar data from the setup phase. It
seemed to me that nobody really added anything which wasn't test data to
the old version, but if I'm wrong about this, please contact me and I'll
restore your data. The only user accounts I have kept are the Swedish
  kid accounts.

- Because of the above, you will need to create new accounts on the site,
and I would like to ask everyone to create two accounts: one "research
account" where you log in as yourself, and one "kid account" where you
log in as a kid. The reason for this is that we will gradually develop
different content for the different types of users, and having a kid
account lets you experience the site the way our kids will. I will give
Researcher permissions to all accounts that need them, just let me know
  which account it is.

- The site is certainly not finished in the sense that it has all the
functionality that we want, but the functionality which is there is
fairly complete. There are no huge bugs that I know about, and I would
certainly say that it is ready to be used. Then we'll keep adding
functionality as we go along. Having said that, I am sure we will find
bugs in the current setup, and I am very grateful if you report any that
  you find.

- One of the major tasks to tackle is that of translation. I have
postponed this so far, which means that for you who watch the site in
Swedish, Portugese, Italian, etc, the site is a strange mixture of
English and your selected language. I will look into this now that we
have a first version out the door.

- Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Enjoy!

Jesper
