There was a big discussion on lobste.rs about people's favourite Emacs pa=
ckages https://lobste.rs/s/sz3gab/what_are_your_favorite_emacs_packages and=
that sparked similar conversations on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/emac=
s/comments/1stw78y/what_are_your_favorite_emacs_packages/ and HN https://ne=
ws.ycombinator.com/item?id=3D47875031. Discussions like that are a great so=
urce of inspiration https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/1ssfwpl/your_so=
urces_for_inspiration/. I added a couple of small improvements to my config=
based on this week's Emacs news, like diff-hl https://www.emacs.dyerdwelli=
ng.family/emacs/20260421070329-emacs--getting-diff-hl-just-right/.

Also, lots of people expressed their appreciation for Chris Wellons https=
://nullprogram.com/blog/2026/04/26/, who is moving on to other editors for =
now. Me, I've enjoyed using https://melpa.org/#/simple-httpd, impatient, an=
d skewer, and I'm glad Chris made and shared them. Many of his packages alr=
eady have new maintainers, and the rest are up for adoption https://nullpro=
gram.com/blog/2026/04/26/. Perhaps we'll see him around again someday!

There was a big discussion on lobste.rs about [[https://lobste.rs/s/sz3gab/=

and that sparked similar conversations on [[https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/=

re a great source of [[https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/1ssfwpl/your=

Also, lots of people expressed their appreciation for [[https://nullprogram=

or now. Me, I've enjoyed using https://melpa.org/#/simple-httpd, impatient,=
and skewer, and I'm glad Chris made and shared them. Many of his packages =
already have new maintainers, and the [[https://nullprogram.com/blog/2026/0=

ay!
