Hmm, the real problem occurs if somebody manually loads
(/foo/bar/texmf/whatever/)preview.sty in a TEX file. Is there a way to
prevent our preview.el from loading /path/to/emacs/preview.sty in this
special case?

This way, we'd still get automatic preview.sty loading in generic TEX
files but consistent behaviour in the special case when preview.sty is
loaded manually.
