No danger...

No danger of myself interfering with implementing --with-package-lisp-dir --with-package-image-dir --with-package-info-dir this night. This should be more or less what is needed with regard to structuring everything in the likes of an XEmacs or any other package, right? And it would also mean that we could have a preview-image-dir variable, and use that for _immediately_ finding the icons instead of searching load-path or data-directories for them. Ralf had some first sketches for a replacement of the "work" icons, though I told him that concerning the more Gnomish form instead of the straight form of the signs, he'd have to muster a majority on the list to overvote my taste: this would not just be a change in quality, but also in design... Ok, folks, I have to _rush_, or I'll be late for choir practice. Not copied to preview-latex-devel because I don't have the time to moderate it through the stupid list manager. I checked in the latest changes to preview.el, and it should now find previews in UTF-8 and other files pretty much regardless of how the language environment is set up and what TeX decides to quote and what not. -- David Kastrup, Kriemhildstr. 15, 44793 Bochum
