Hi, as Ralph has said, the CVS archive is now in a parallel branch to auctex (a parallel module to auctex). I hope that it will get into a subdirectory and have already checked in some bug fixes. Feel free to so similarly when obvious reports trundle in. I can't guarantee that such checkins will not get lost when directories get moved: so keep your working copy of the repository in case you need to check stuff in again. It is obvious right now that some stuff in the installation does not seem to work reliably. Now of course, we won't be releasing something in the next few days. I am not sure that the redirection of the mailing lists works even anywhere close to reliable. The software really is a nuisance. The next preview-latex release will have bug reports redirected to the AUCTeX list. We will have to see how this pans out with regard to traffic. If things come to worst, we can split the list into a developer, user, bug report and announce list and move the lists to gnu.org as well. However, I would like to test drive lists there for a while and have people try out whether they like the mailing list software there before thinking about moving altogether. That would then be the last moves if we do that. Given that emacs-devel also runs over gnu.org, and with a somewhat tolerable quota of spam on it, I think that a basically unmoderated list at least for the bug reports would be totally acceptable. -- David Kastrup, Kriemhildstr. 15, 44793 Bochum
