Hi, in the process of thinking about what work is appropriate for combining AUCTeX and preview-latex, I am considering moving our mailing lists over to gnu.org. I would propose the following scheme there: [email protected] General discussion about AUCTeX [email protected] Bug reports [email protected] Announcements [email protected] Developer list The old lists would get rerouted as follows preview-latex-devel -> auctex-devel preview-latex-bugs -> bug-auctex auc-tex -> auctex It would be expected that developers also read bug-auctex (I don't see a really compelling reason to autosubscribe auctex-devel to bug-auctex). By keeping the traffic on bug-auctex to bug reports and their resolution, only directing technical discussions to auctex-devel, the usefulness of archiving and list sorting software should be higher. I don't think that there is much sense in a separate help-auctex list for which people have little incentive except masochism to subscribe... I am willing to be persuaded otherwise, but this needs to be accompanied with offers of people that will then subscribe for the purpose of _giving_ help on a continuing basis. Of course, the idea of a separate list that will magically help is nice, but without genie support... Comments? -- David Kastrup, Kriemhildstr. 15, 44793 Bochum
