bbdb can't use v7 .bbdb file anymore

Recent bbdb wants to migrate the file format to v9. I'm using ASynk
to synchronize it with google contacts so I wanted to keep v7 around for
a while but when I decline, bbdb won't use my v7 .bbdb file and finishes
with an "abort loading" message. Is there a way to keep using v7 with
recent a bbdb ?
