I'm the author of ASynK (https://github.com/skarra/ASynK) - a Python tool
that performs stateful bi-directional sync, among other things, between
Google Contacts and BBDB. It should also handle custom fields gracefully. I
recently got ASynK working after it had been broken for a few years. You
can see my recent post on this list with a recent update if you are
interested. FWIW - I no longer use BBDB as my daily driver, but I have
enough "fond memories" of over a decade of hard core use to want to keep
supporting BBDB in ASynK as long as ASynK itself lives!
