I understand your role as a head maintainer, but wielding the CONTRIBUTE file to block functional, clear code is exactly how open source projects stagnate. If your goal is genuinely to encourage future contributions, putting up arbitrary walls over formatting or demanding that I remove a single sentence to satisfy your paragraph length preferences accomplishes the exact opposite. I have provided a tested patch that solves a real issue. The comments I added provide sufficient context. If you insist on holding up a valid contribution over stylistic preferences, you are welcome to make those minor edits yourself before merging.
