Hmm.  The patch was Aug 10.  That ping was a few days later on Aug 13.
Sean did say he's targeting Aug 17 for a release candidate and I made sure
to copy him explicitly on the note (I know when I get cc'd, my mail reader
treats emails differently than merely being subscribed to a list).
