I doubt anyone saw this before nor will ever see it again
and have not instrumented any tests.  It might be good to
create a test jig that produces random mouse drags and so
on to discover similarly obscure once-in-a-lifetime bugs.

P.S.  From now on I will M-x report-emacs-bug immediately
to capture as much state as possible.  Maybe even
advise it to save much more state than usual.
