For more information, I am using Emacs from the git repo above:

GNU Emacs 24.4.50.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.10.8) of
2014-06-28 on tuhdo-MacBookAir

In fact, when I tried to enter .c or .el source files in the Emacs repo, I
also got the ede-emacs-version error.
