I have the generic project system turned on (as I run all the things for =

random testing purposes) and never ran into this case.  What platform =

are you on?  Is there anything special about your system that lets emacs =

return nil for some of it's file system calls?

I installed your patch locally, and it passes all the tests, which =

didn't surprise me.  I'm mostly curious what the special case might be =

so I can add it into my checkin comments.
