Let me put it like this:

ECB is not dead and it is maintained as good as possible - whereas possible 
means "as good as my time allows"...

Heavy enhancements are currently not likely because i'm too busy...

But ECB has a very stable and mature status and works with all current Emacs...

If you have trouble to install (even after reading the docs! ;-) then please
do not hesitate to post your troubles here... i will try to help you...
