ECB in other frame

I'd like to setup ECB such that I have all my pertinent ecb windows
(directories, sources, methods, analyse) in an entirely different
frame, but my edit frame (holding my source file) in the original
frame.

I know of the ecb-new-ecb-frame variable.  However, setting that to
true alone creates an entirely new frame with another (duplicate) edit
buffer.  As far as I can tell there is not a way to create a custom
layout with no edit window (without hacking away at ecb elisp code).
