I've read about JS2 and several others on http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/JavaScriptMode. Unfortunately, that page doesn't seem to offer a clear answer, especially in the context of CEDET, ECB, nXhtml, and mumamo (I'm also interested in improving the tabbing behavior). I'd rather not spend time trying to integrate the various alternatives if possible. (It looks like what I have is Landstrom's implementation.) If I get annoyed enough, and have the time, I'll try js2 and/or espresso.
