I cannot load the ecb successfully

Hi, all,

I got trouble when adding the ecb into emacs. I have tested many versions of
emacs, cedet and ecb.

The cedet version I used is 1.0pre6 and the ecb version is 2.40.

When I use the emacs 23.1, The error message is
Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-function global-ede-mode)
(global-ede-mode 1)

When I use the emacs 21.3, The error message is
Debugger entered--Lisp error: (file-error "Cannot open load file" "ecb")
require(ecb)

(The cedet with version 1.0pre7,1.0pre4 and the ecb with version 2.32 also
lead to the same error)

Is there any solution to this kind of error?
