Understood, thank you both for the clarification. I will respect the project's position and will not post further patches or code from this work to the list while the FSF guidelines on machine-assisted contributions are being worked out. To be clear about intent: emacs-gpu will simply continue as an independent GPL fork, with no expectation of inclusion in GNU Emacs (the README already states this). If specific guidelines are published at some point, I will be happy to reevaluate whether an upstream contribution is possible under them.
