No I usually don't edit playlists, I create them and then let them play endlessly.

Ok, when I start playing a playlist, point will be on the first song. Then, during the day the list progresses to the next, and the next, etc. Then, let's say I want to re-play a song which has been played 3 or 4 songs "ago". Currently I have to use the emms navigation commands, that is - press 'p' a couple of times until I reach the desired song. 

Using point would be faster. If point were on the currently playing song, I had to hit 'up' a couple of times, no song would be started in the process, until I reach the target song, hit 'enter' and there I am.

I admit this may sound a little obscure :)

But this is the first time I am using emms. So far for me almost always in emacs the action was where point was. Now with emms it's not anymore. I may adjust to it, of course. Or bring emms behaviors up to my habits. Isn't this the reason why we love emacs after all?
