Yes, I believe, InspIRCd truncates overlong messages instead of sending ERR_INPUTTOOLONG 417 or similar [1] (which is also annoying). Unfortunately, ERC doesn't currently provide a granular way to configure options (like `erc-split-line-length') per-network/session/target. FWIW, we've often mused about perhaps repurposing the half-baked and long abandoned option `erc-settings' to serve as something of a proxy or an analog for connection-local variables [2]. If anyone out there is interested in taking on such an initiative, ERC will be forever grateful.
