(das &bdquo;Unternehmen&rdquo; oder &bdquo;Northern Lion&rdquo;) m&ouml;chte den Erhalt der vorl&auml;ufigen Goldproben der ersten Testbohrung auf dem Projekt St. Nikolas auf Zypern bekanntgeben. Das Projekt ist Teil des bestehenden Grundbesitzes des Unternehmens, der 19 Konzessionen auf einer Fl&auml;che von &uuml;ber 53 km2 umfasst.<br /><br />Die oberfl&auml;chennahe Goldmineralisierung von 4,5 Gramm pro Tonne (&bdquo;g/t&rdquo;) &uuml;ber 28,6 Meter beginnt 10 Meter unterhalb der Tagesoberfl&auml;che und umfasst eine hochgradigere Zone mit 6,1 g/t &uuml;ber 12,3 m. Der gewogene durchschnittliche Goldgehalt von 4,5 g/t ber&uuml;cksichtigt ebenfalls einen vom Unternehmen zugewiesenen Goldg
 ehalt von null zwischen 31,9 und 33,4 Metern aufgrund der Durchschneidung eines 1,5 m weiten Hohlraums aus der R&ouml;merzeit. Die Bohrung wurde mit einer Neigung von -55 Grad und einem Azimut von 274 Grad niedergebracht. Die wahre M&auml;chtigkeit ist zurzeit unbekannt; die Kissenlavamuttergesteine in dieser Gegend sind jedoch gew&ouml;hnlich sub-horizontal. <br /><br />Die Goldproben f&uuml;r diese Bohrung wurden im Eilverfahren aufbereitet; das Unternehmen wartet auf die Ergebnisse f&uuml;r Basismetalle und Silber, die nun auch angefordert wurden. <br /><br />Die folgende Tabelle gibt Auskunft zu den einzelnen Proben der mineralisierten Zone.<br /><br />

<br />John Lando, President von Northern Lion, erkl&auml;rte: &bdquo;Wir sind mit den vorl&auml;ufigen Ergebnissen der Goldproben sehr zufrieden, da sie das Goldpotenzial des Modells einer vulkanogenen Massivsulfid-(&bdquo;VMS&rdquo;)-Lagerst&auml;tte des Zyperntyps, von deren Vorliegen unser technisches Team &uuml;berzeugt ist, best&auml;tigt.&ldquo;<br /><br />Die Mineralisierung des Projektes St. Nikolas ist von Kissenlava nahe des Kontakthofes mit den &uuml;berlagernden Sedimentgesteinen beherbergt. Vorherige Arbeiten von Noranda im Jahr 1978 bzw. von BRGM im Jahr 1984 lokalisierten einen Massivsulfiderzk&ouml;rper von unbekannten Ausma&szlig;en, der sich haupts&auml;chlich aus Kupferglanz, Chalcopyrit, Zinkblende und Pyrit zusammensetzt und signifikante Edelmetallkonzentrationen enth&
 auml;lt. Die historischen Daten sind unvollst&auml;ndig und es ist kein Bohrgut mehr erhalten. Die Bohrungen von Noranda ergaben jedoch bis zu 6 g/t Gold und 4,82% Kupfer auf einem Abschnitt von 5 m sowie 67 g/t Silber auf einem Meter in einem separaten Bohrloch. <br /><br />Das Projekt St. Nikolas wurde aufgrund von grundlegenden historischen Informationen, die aus der laufenden Bewertung von Daten des Geological Survey of Cyprus stammen, sowie von Informationen der Berater des Unternehmens auf Zypern aufgenommen. In den 1950er Jahren f&uuml;hrte Hellenic Mining Company auf dem Konzessionsgebiet unbedeutende Abbauarbeiten durch und f&ouml;rderte Berichten zufolge 3.500 Tonnen Erz mit einem Kupfergehalt von 1,5% aus einem Stollen nahe der heutigen Stra&szlig;e. Eine Reihe von eisernen H&
 uuml;ten bei&szlig;en auf einem Gebiet von 300 auf 100 Meter aus. Die sediment&auml;re Deckschicht, die nach der Mineralisierungsbildung entstanden ist, ist im westlichen Teil des Konzessionsgebietes durchdringend, was zur Folge hat, dass die vulkanische Sequenz nur sp&auml;rlich zu Tage tritt.<br /><br />Eine Drehbohrung wurde Ende 2010 vom Verk&auml;ufer der Konzession durchgef&uuml;hrt, die die Tendenz der historischen Ergebnisse (siehe Pressemitteilung vom 9. Dezember 2010) best&auml;tigt. Bohrung 11SN02 wurde in der N&auml;he des Ansatzpunktes der Drehbohrung niedergebracht, um eine pr&auml;zisere Analyse der Goldverteilung innerhalb des mineralisierten Abschnitts zu erbringen. Die Bohrung l&auml;sst erkennen, dass die Vererzung direkt unterhalb des Kontakts mit den Sedimentgesteine
 n beginnt und sich in gr&ouml;&szlig;ere Tiefen erstreckt, als zuvor anerkannt wurde. <br /><br />Sieben Bohrungen &uuml;ber insgesamt 505 Bohrmeter wurden auf St. Nikolas niedergebracht; sie erstrecken sich auf eine Streichl&auml;nge von &uuml;ber 200 m in nordwestlicher Richtung. Alle Bohrungen und Proben werden derzeit aufbereitet. <br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">Geschichte</span><br /><br />Die Geschichte der Mineralexploration (Kupfer, Gold und andere Metalle) auf der Insel Zypern datiert aus der Bronzezeit (vor etwa 5.000 Jahren). Die Ph&ouml;nizier waren die ersten, die auf dieser Insel Kupfer verarbeiteten, gefolgt von den R&ouml;mern, und diese T&auml;tigkeit wurde bis zum heutigen Tage fortgesetzt. Belege f&uuml;r diese lange Bergbaugesc
 hichte wurden bereits an der reichhaltigen alten Oberfl&auml;che und in Untertageanlagen sowie bei Abraumhalden beobachtet. Die Mineralexploration in der Republik Zypern wurde in den letzten Jahrzehnten nur in geringem Ausma&szlig; betrieben und das Management ist der Auffassung, dass eine hohe Wahrscheinlichkeit besteht, dass zus&auml;tzliche Massivsulfidk&ouml;rper vorhanden sind, die nicht so zu Tage treten wie beinahe die gesamte bekannte Lagerst&auml;tte.<br /><br />Die zyprischen Metalllagerst&auml;tten sind &uuml;berwiegend kupferhaltige, vulkanogene Massivsulfid- (&bdquo;VHMS&ldquo;)-Lagerst&auml;tten. Diese Lagerst&auml;tten befinden sich innerhalb der Kissenlavasequenz des Troodos Ophiolite Complex. Die Kissenlavasequenz ist in die obere und untere Kissenlava unterteilt, wobei 
 sich der Gro&szlig;teil dieser Massivsulfidk&ouml;rper entlang des Kontaktes zwischen den Kissenlavasequenzen und der Rest zwischen der unteren Kissenlava und der Basisgruppe befindet. S&auml;mtliche beantragten Konzessionen des Unternehmens liegen oberhalb dieser bedeutsamen Kontakte. Die Goldmineralisierung in Zusammenhang mit diesen Massivsulfiderzen wurde keinen historischen Bewertungen unterzogen.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">Qualit&auml;tskontrolle und -sicherung</span><br /><br />Die Feldarbeiten des Unternehmens auf Zypern werden von Jim Chapman, P.Geo.
