imap group, how to display more messages without leaving the group?

Hi 


If I enter in the gnus mail-newsreader a group (imap), then per default
1000 messages are displayed. In order to see more message I have to
leave the group and enter it via C-u which allows me to specify a larger
number. Is there another method? One in which I do not have to leave the
group?
