The discussion below DOES highlight or at least imply the need to back u=
p your .newsrc.eld along with other important files.  It may be from lac=
k of enough knowledge but I've gotten into messes with accidental deleti=
ons that gnus didn't let me recover from.  With a daily backup at least =
I don't lose much.
