I deleted this directory and everything returned to normal behaviour. I began to suspect an environment problem by creating a new user and trying to run emacs with this user : everything was fine. Then, with my usual user, I moved the .emacs.d, and once again everything was fine. Then I saw this eln-cache subdir...
