Hi, Recently, I upgraded from Trisquel 11 to Trisquel 12 (based on Ubuntu 24.04), which also upgraded Emacs to 29, and when I try to write something in a Emacs buffer using Bengali keyboard, no character is inserted in the buffer. In Trisquel 12, I use Mate Desktop which uses Xorg. I switch keyboard layout using Desktop settings. All other applications like Pluma, Firefox work fine. In Emacs buffer, backspace and Enter keys work in Bengali layout. Trying to invoke C-<a bengali character>, Emacs shows that these keybinding is undefined (this is expected behaviour). If I try to read text files written in Bengali, Emacs displays them correctly. Emacs' built in input method also works, and correctly inserts Bengali characters, but this will be very inconvenient for me to use akin to learning a new keyboard layout. The problem exists even when I launch Emacs with `emacs -Q` command. Thank you. -- Abhiseck Paira
