Report issue concerning melpa package

I am attempting to report an issue to the maintainers of the slime 
package at MELPA. Apparently there is no means for ordinary users to 
report the following issue, so I ask that this be passed along.

If slime is installed the static-if error is flagged at startup. and it 
is not possible top start Slime, i.e. M-x slime
