The flag being set controls whether emacs interactively confirms with the user when emacs is told to quit but the process is still running. Most of the time it shouldn't make a difference, but if the process is stuck or slow for some reason, seems no point holding up the exit for it. Kind of like Thread.setDaemon(true). Cheers, Len.
