Hi Clay,

Tramp has been part of the CVS version for about a month now. If you
follow the discussion on the emacs-devel mailing list (subscribe
through http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/emacs/), you will notice that
there are still some bugs to be ironed out for it. Changes to it are
committed to the CVS as recently as today.

I've been able to use the latest version (18:00 mountain time, August
3) with some success but there still seem to be some bugs. If this
feature is important to you, please contribute by testing the new code
and sending bug reports to emacs-devel. I believe there is also a
list specifically for tramp (please check its web page).

Also it is advisable for people who update their version from the CVS
regularly to read emacs-devel to keep track of recent changes made to
Emacs and its packages.

Andrew.
