bug?

Internal error in rng-validate-mode triggered at buffer position 414.
Invalid regexp: "Range striding over charsets"

source is
trigger =
  element trigger {
    attribute ns { xsd:string },
    attribute nameList {
      list { xsd:NCName+ }
    }
  }

specifically the xsd:string item.

I'm unsure where the regex referred to is.
The source file and rnc schema validate OK using Jing

The schema is for nvdl, see the link from RELAX NG, compact syntax
(NOT shown in ISO/IEC 19757-4)
