Need help creating an RNC file for version 3.9 of the liquibase XSD schema

I have a successful liquibase dbchangelog-3.5.rnc[1] that I created from
the dbchangelog-3.5.xsd file[2] by:
1. First converting from XSD to RNG using the online XSD converter[3]
2. Convert the RNG file to an RNC file using jing-trang[4] (I first had to
clone the git project and build trang.jar with ant as indicated in
the README)
I then had to do a few small fixes to the RNC file so that a dbchangelog
file[5] would load in nxml: change duplicate definitions of column,
param and createIndex, e.g change
start |= column
column =
element column {
to
start |= startColumn
startColumn =
element column {
With the manual schema changes the file in [5] loaded but showed up a
lot of errors:
1. the <changeSet> element was missing id and author (which are
present)
2. all <column> attributes show up as red and undefnied
I tried using the 3.5 RNC schema[1] on the changelog file [5] and that
worked fine.
The manual changes I made to the 3.5 schema are [6].
The first thing I'm trying to fix, is why nxml is complaining about the
<changeSet> element not having attributes it actually has.
I can't find anything in the manual changes to the 3.5 schema[6] that
applies to this?
Does anyone know what the problem may be?
