bug#2754: 23.0.91; hang with psvn when auth fails

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I have a working copy where `M-x svn-status RET M-x svn-status-update
RET' hangs emacs.  If I bring up the *svn-process* buffer before doing
that, I see 

  svn: OPTIONS of 'https://path/to/svn/server': authorization failed:
  Couild not authenticate to server: rejected Basic challenge
  (https://svn.boostpro.com)

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
