Re: Serious problems with psgml 1.2.5

I've fixed the error. I uncommented the following lines (which I took 
from the psgml installing instructions) in my .emacs

;(push (expand-file-name "~ziegler/Emacs") load-path)
;(autoload 'sgml-mode "psgml" "Major mode to edit SGML files." t)
;(autoload 'xml-mode "psgml" "Major mode to edit XML files." t)


Now everything is working correctly!

So my version of Xemacs must have a precompiled/preinstalled psgml 
package. I did not know this. That's why I tried to install and 
byte-compile psgml by myself.

This means that the compilation (byte-compiled files were located in 
~ziegler/Emacs) must have gone wrong, although I did not get any error 
messages. It was my own byte-compiled version of psgml 1.2.5 that caused 
the strange errors.

For the compilation, I followed the instruction in Chapter 2 of the 
psgml manual.
