I've submitted a request that PSGML be enhanced to provide XInclude support. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=648481&group_id=9156&atid=359156 In a nutshell, XInclude support in PSGML would allow you to work with "split documents" without needing to use external entity references or an internal DTD subset. It would also allow the child documents to have their own XML and DTD declarations and internal subsets (something that is not possible with the external entity reference mechanism). So, you could work with your child documents independent of any parent documents that might "include" them. In PSGML terms, that means you wouldn't need to specify an sgml-parent-document in the child doc in order to use PSGML to edit it. XInclude is not a pie-in-the-sky technology -- support for it is already implemented it a bunch of tools (xsltproc/libxml2/libxslt, Apache Cocoon, and 4Suite, for starters). ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Visual Studio.NET comprehensive development tool, built to increase your productivity.
