In your example you used the "class" keyword in the typedef.  The tag 
that generated that needs dereferencing is different that if you skipped 
that keyword.  I'm not entirely sure why.  What I do know is that it 
confused the dereference engine, and no one has apparently tried that 
before.

I submitted patches and a new test to CEDET/bzr.
